Definition

Beech flakes are sorted by size, dried at a temperature of 550°C, sifted and are made dust free.

  • ash at 800° C : 0.5 %
  • loose bulk density: 0.270 - 0.330
  • moisture content : 7 % - 10 % maximum

Chemical properties

  • cellulose: 45 - 50 %
  • hemicellulose: 20 - 25 %
  • lignin: 22 - 27 %

Determination of the grain dimension

Average size of particles : 2.50 mm – 4.50 mm.
